This wooden sculpture of a male torso, created by Olivier Duhamel, is a striking example of his signature layered style. The piece is composed of stacked wooden slices, forming a three-dimensional representation of the human form with a mesmerizing, rhythmic effect. The contours and musculature of the male body are accentuated by the parallel lines of each layer, creating a visually dynamic interplay of light and shadow.

The figure, headless and armless, maintains a classical aesthetic reminiscent of ancient Greco-Roman sculptures, yet its modern construction technique gives it a contemporary twist. The choice of material—wood—adds warmth and texture, while the base provides stability and an elegant display.

Duhamel’s mastery in digital design and fabrication is evident in the precision of each layer, seamlessly forming the natural curves and anatomical details of the subject. The sculpture captures movement and vitality, making it an impressive blend of classical inspiration and modern craftsmanship.
